FRANK plastic AG draws from decades of experience in processing a wide range of modern plastics that are authorised for use in medical technology. Many of them can replace metals. The result are single-use medical devices made from plastic, which considerably reduces the risk of resterilisation in clinical environments.
Case: substituting plastic for metal in medical technology – highly transparent single-use trocars
A globally leading manufacturer for endoscopic devices needed a single-use trocar to facilitate the insertion of instruments into the shoulder area. The new trocar was to replace the existing multiple-use metal products.
FRANK plastic AG developed the required device on the basis of a specifications sheet, carried out the necessary material and functional tests and initiated the prototyping of the individual components.
FRANK plastic AG efficiently developed an innovative solution that even went into serial production as a complete OEM system, including packaging and sterilisation.
